We recently talked about Senran Kagura: Estival Versus coming to PC but that isn’t the only Senran Kagura property being in the news lately, Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash is also scheduled to come out for the PS4 on March 16th in Japan (expected sometime later this year in North America if there aren’t any delays). To celebrate the new release Marvelous released a new 5-minute gameplay trailer viewable below. It has glimpses of the gameplay as well as the girls in some of their bathing suits and some shots from some of the minigames.
Peach Beach Splash‘s gameplay has been compared to Splatoon with its more lighthearted shooting and third person mechanics, although it obviously is missing the painting mechanic which made Splatoon famous and instead is going for a water gun motif. That means all the girls get to be in bathing suits the entire time. While the shooting mechanics don’t look particularly deep, the minigames and card loadouts look to add variety to the game to help make it more interesting. As with most Senran Kagura games, the focus will be on the girls, their costumes, and how clothed they are more than telling a compelling story and having hardcore gameplay (although the gameplay in Senran Kagura games are usually pretty decent). To know if the gameplay is going to be any good we will probably have to hold out for reviews from the Japanese version of the game first; unless of course you only care about the girls and making their swimsuits see through in which case you probably won’t be disappointed in Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash in the least.
